Black Hole Horizon Horns

Black Hole Horizon Horns
In Thom Kubli’s in-process experiment, air horns based on the form of black holes are positioned in a room of white fabric. Each horn generates a tone while an acrylic mechanism drenched in inky black solution opens. Large bubbles emerge and achieve freedom, initially deformed by the energy of the sound and the movement of air in the space. They drift for a few moments – struggling to achieve spherical shape – and burst onto the room’s boundaries.
