Sixty State Place
Originally designed by York and Sawyer and opened in Albany in 1902, Sixty State was recently given new life as an event space with luxury residences. The main hall of the space is large, nearly a cube in shape, and clad in beautiful polished stone. The solution preserved the look of the room using integrated acoustic treatment at the ceiling and a tuned audio system that excites the room to a minimal degree. The project received a 2015 Preservation Merit Award from the Historic Albany Foundation. Architect: Neil Pelone. 2015
